The Atlantic Flying Club currently owns a 1979 Cessna Skyhawk 172N that is IFR certified.  As of July 2009, the aircraft had approximately 4,500 hours on the airframe, and 50 hours on an overhauled engine.  The aircraft’s interior had an entire makeover in 2000 and the paint is in excellent condition.  The aircraft is kept hangared at all times at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport.  Instrumentation includes the following:

ü      New! Meggitt S-TEC System 20 Autopilot with VOR/LOC/GPS Tracking

ü      Bendix King KMD 150 Multi-Function Display w/GPS

Dual Bendix King 155A

ü      Certified IFR w/Localizer, Marker Beacon, and Glide Slope

ü      Digital Garmin Transponder with altitude encoding (mode c)

ü      Garmin four place intercom with push to talk on both yokes

ü      Garmin audio panel with separate sequence and volume controls

Membership requires a one-time fee of $300.00 plus one month’s dues, which are currently $40.00.  Once membership is approved by the board of directors, you will be obligated to pay a monthly dues rate, which is currently $40.00 per month.

The Aircraft hourly rate is figured by actual operating cost at no profit and is calculated by TACH TIME including fuel.  Since a large portion of the operating cost is associated with fuel burn, members have the following options:

$90.00 per hour wet
